Punk Rock

  Early SF Punk Fliers
I took pictures at some Punk Rock events in San Francisco in the late 1970's with a little pocket camera. I got a good camera in the summer of 1981, took some better pictures, but got it damaged at a Circle Jerks show, just before I moved to New York City in the fall of 1981.

In 1998, I first published some of my Punk Rock photos on Terry Baker's, late gallery site, "aero".

In 2001, Olivia, "Queen of Punkness" asked me to publish more photos. I made Punk Rock Pictures, uploading it in January, 2002.

I realized that I had a few punk rock stories to tell, I began making Punk Rock Stories as a format for publishing my stories and those of others who email to me.

Ira wrote to report on his encounters with the young Ian MacKaye and other observations from his perspective as a fixture on the early Punk Rock scene in New York's East Village.

Next came Sid Terror with clearly written stories, some from his upcoming book, all featuring his sharp analysis of the early San Francisco Punk Rock club scene. He also sent some great pictures, like this one

Coincidently, both Ira and Sid talk about "Undead - Misfits" shows, but they are from opposite coasts and are talking about two different "Undeads", two different shows.

There must be thousands of famous shows, with or without feuds, you, the reader, might have been to some, maybe you know something about early Punk Rock that no one else knows. I'm interested, email me. As I have time, I'd like to publish them.
